Energy Performance Certificates
From 1st October 2008 all residential rental properties required an EPC from the first time they are let or re-let after that date.
The government wants us all to try and save energy by making our homes more energy efficient and so a standard system for measuring energy usage was developed that could be understood by everyone.
Under current legislation, once they have been completed, EPC's do not need to be re-done for 10 years.
